NEW GUYS COMING THROUGH • Out of the 19 skaters to have appeared for Nashville this season, seven did not play for the team during the 2019-20 campaign. • Luke Kunin has scored in consecutive games and shares the team lead in points (2) and goals (2). • In addition to his game-winning goal on Saturday, Brad Richardson tallied an assist in Thursday’s season-opener to give him two points on the season. Saturday night, Richardson formed a line with Calle Jarnkrok and Mathieu Olivier that had a 7-1 advantage in unblocked shot attempts when they were on the ice together. • The defensive pairing of Matt Benning and Mark Borowiecki has skated 26:37 together in Nashville’s first two games. The two have been on the ice for three Preds goals compared to one against and have teamed up to block six shots and dish out five hits. • Nick Cousins tallied the primary assist on Kunin’s goal in Saturday’s victory. He’s averaging 16:40 of ice time through two contests. • Erik Haula recorded an assist on Kunin’s first goal with the Predators on Thursday. QUICK HITS • Nashville has started a season 2-0-0 for the first time since 2018-19 and the eighth time in franchise history. • The Preds scored four third-period goals on Saturday; it was the ninth time since the 2015-16 season the team has scored four goals in the third. • Juuse Saros started his second consecutive game in goal for the Preds and made 42 saves, tied for the eighth- most in a game in his career and the 10th time he’s made at least 40 stops. • Filip Forsberg has opened the season with goals in each of his first two games. It’s the second straight season Forsberg has tallied in Nashville’s first opening two contests; in 2019-20, he began the campaign with goals in four straight games.
