Center n Structural steel placed in the arena weighs 5,975,000 pounds - the same weight as 746 average-size Asian elephants. n There are 130 miles of electrical conduit and 322 miles of electrical wiring installed in the arena - enough to stretch from Louisville to Chicago. n The overall square footage of the arena (721,762) equals approximately 13 football fields. n The length of the arena’s catwalk totals a half mile. LED and Broadcast Updates n Boasting 12,000 square feet of LED, the new multimedia displays will showcase the action on the court, in between basketball plays and on-stage during concerts in grander fashion and at a significantly higher quality. n The renovation includes 42 new locations of LED vomitory displays and 360-degree ribbon boards to create a fully immersive in-bowl experience. n The highlight of the project is a massive new six- display center-hung video system in the arena. The screen is three times larger than the arena’s original scoreboard and the new technology provides more than double the pixels of the previous display system resulting in clearer, higher resolution technology. Additional information is avail- able through Louisville women’s basketball sports information director Matt Paras (401-215-5656, Paras@GoCards.com). n Media Credentials: Requests for credentials may be directed via email to Matt Paras (Paras@ GoCards.com). To the extent possible with space limitations, priority will be given to media outlets which have regularly participated in UofL news conferences, the reach of the news entity, and the history of coverage. Credentials which are not obtained in advance may be picked up at media will call, located inside the Suite Entrance on the Second Street side of the KFC Yum! Center. Credentials will not be mailed. Credentials allow access to the media room and media seating areas -- or other designated areas for photographers and videographers – and do not provide access to the suites, clubs or other arena areas. If you have been approved for a credential and cannot attend, please alert Matt Paras (Paras@ GoCards.com, cell: 401-215-5656) so the space may be reassigned. Media interested in covering the Cardinals on the road also need to make that credential request through UofL, not through the opposing school staff. Matt Paras (Paras@GoCards.com) will accept those road credential requests, then work with individuals and the opposing school to determine availability for a specific site, as space will be very limited. n Seating: Individuals must sit in their assigned seat at the location of their place card either in the corner media seating area in Sections 119 or 120, or courtside if approved for seating there. Place cards may not be moved. n Photographers/Videographers: Photogra- phers will have assigned seats on the baseline for the 2023-24 season. Seats will be reserved for outlets that regular cover the team and any additonal space will be assigned on a game-by-game basis. If you do not have an assigned section on the baseline, the overflow photo section will be in the media seats in Sections 119 and 120. Photo work space, equipped with wired internet access, is available within the media work room (two digital photo rooms). The use of ACC game highlights are subject to the restrictions outlined in the ACC News Access Guidelines. n Parking: Limited media parking is available in garages within one block of the KFC Yum! Center. Some require a pass to have in hand in advance, others are operated from a list supplied by UofL. Requests should be made well in advance to Matt Paras. n Notes/Stats: Game notes and statistics will be available online at www.GoCards.com/wbbmedia; there will be no printed copies provided at games. Live statistics will be available during the event online on GoCards.com, the CardsMobile app and Louisville.statbroadcast.com. There is no password required to access the live stats. A pdf of the final statistics will be posted postgame on GoCards.com. n Postgame Interviews: Postgame interviews will take place following games, either in person, online through Microsoft Teams or a hybrid format. The format will be communicated to media members closer to each game. Coach Jeff Walz and select student-athletes will be available as soon as possible following games for both home and away events Links for the video conference if applicable, or phone numbers to dial into the conference, will be provided to approved media who request access from Matt Paras (Paras@GoCards.com). The Mi- crosoft Teams software or app may be downloaded to desktop or mobile from this link: https://www. microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft- teams/download-app. n Internet Access: Wireless internet access is available throughout the KFC Yum! Center. A password is required for special media access. Wired connections also are available in the media room. n Media Room Hours: The KFC Yum! Center Media Room will open two hours prior to tip-off and will close two hours after the conclusion of the game. Only those who make special ar- rangements with Matt Paras (Paras@GoCards. com) in advance will be permitted in the arena any earlier. If you anticipate needing additional time postgame, you may wish to work from home or another location. n In-Week Access: News conference with Coach Walz and select student-athletes will occur early afternoons throughout the season. That avail- ability may again take place in person, online or in a hybrid format The notice for the events will specify if they are virtual or in-person, as well as noting the location if it is in-person. n Sports Information Office Location: The UofL Sports Information Office is located in the Swain Student Activities Center on the UofL campus at the corner of Floyd and Brandeis Streets.
