Continuing his academic pursuits, Dr. Ivey earned a Master’s degree in Health Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction in 2000 while working as a graduate assistant director of strength and conditioning at Missouri. In 2004, he returned to Missouri as the Director of Strength and Conditioning, following his tenure as Direc- tor of Strength and Conditioning at Tulsa from 2002 to 2003. During his time at Tulsa, he played a pivotal role in revitalizing the football program, leading them to an impressive turnaround from a 1-11 record to an 8-5 record in 2003. In 2013, Dr. Ivey obtained his Ph.D. in sports psychology from Missouri, further enhancing his knowledge and expertise in his field. He holds several certifications, including Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) and Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the CSCCa, as well as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Dr. Ivey is also a renowned speaker on sports performance, sharing his insights and experiences with others. Originally hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Ivey shares his life with his wife, Dr. Starla Ivey, and their two daughters, Paisli and Serena. Michael Ortman Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Game Operations Michael Ortman was elevated to Associate Ath- letic Director of Facilities & Game Operations in July 2019 after five years as UofL’s Stadiums Man- ager. In this new role, Ortman oversees the facility and game opera- tions staffs for all home events along with the grounds staff that maintain the turf areas both inside and outside all athletic facilities. Before coming to the UofL, Ortman worked 17 years at Soldier Field in Chicago, serving as the Director of Operations for his final 12 years there. He oversaw the facility’s operations encompassing the 98 acres of park land, park- ing structures and stadium. He coordinated the operational needs for the more than 225 events held annually in and around the stadium. Overseeing and coordinating the staff of over 250 trades, cleaning, landscaping and facility opera- tions staff were part of Ortman’s focus. Addi- tional responsibilities included the stadium life safety, operating systems and as the lead contact for all media needs for the facility for every event. On an annual basis, Ortman created and oversaw the stadium’s annual capital improve- ment program that accounted for projects that were done to maintain the original 1924 historic structure along with projects to continue to keep Soldier Field on the cutting edge of technology and fan amenities. During Ortman’s tenure, Soldier Field was recognized as the first stadium in the country to receive the certification of LEED-EB through the United States Green Building Council. Between 2005 and 2014, Ortman was a part of 10 Super Bowls, working as the AFC team coordinator ensuring team access and needs were met both on the sidelines and in the locker room for the NFL. He earned his degree in animal science in 1995 and his master’s in business administration in 1997, both from Western Illinois. Ortman and his wife Christine have three children: Samantha, Madison and Austin. Brad Barber Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations/Alumni Relations Brad Barber is in his 33rd year as Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations after serving as the Assistant Ticket Manager for three seasons with UofL. Barber coordinates all football and basketball season ticket sales, along with ticketing for all single game and post-season events. He also coordinated all ticket sales for the expansion of Cardinal Stadium as well as for the KFC Yum! Center. The UofL football team has maintained a substantial season ticket base including reach- ing over 45,000 in season ticket sales often since 2010. UofL’s men’s basketball has drawn well regularly in the 22,000-seat KFC Yum Center. In addition to regular season events, he is also responsible for ticketing for all conference events along with NCAA post season events run by UofL. He also serves in the game management and operations aspect for all sports. Before coming to UofL, Barber attended Rio Grande College for his undergraduate studies as well as Ohio University for his graduate work. While at Rio Grande College, he served as an assistant basketball coach from 1982-1986. Upon completion of his schooling, he completed an internship at the University of North Caro- lina in the athletic ticket office. He has been married to the former Kim Mor- gan for the last 35 years. Edwards oversees the major gifts solicitations for the Cardinal Athletic Fund, and assists in all aspects of administration and planning for the development staff. She came to UofL from Bowling Green State University where she was a member of the Falcon’s athletics development staff. While at Bowling Green, she also completed her masters in sports administration from BGSU. Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Edwards was a member of the Bowling Green State women’s golf team from 2006-09. She is married to former Louisville men’s soccer goal- keeper Charlie Edwards. Erika Fitzgerald (Assistant AD for Ticket Membership and Services Erika Fitzgerald has worked for UofL Athlet- ics since her time as an undergraduate student and previously served as Director of Ticket Opera- tions since 2012. She’s responsible for overseeing the service and operations team to provide fans with a best-in-class customer service experience. Additionally, she has helped develop a membership hub personalized to fans to drive member engagement and retention, as well as overseeing game day ticket operations for five ticketed sports, plus ACC and NCAA postseason events. Fitzgerald is the department’s liaison with Ticketmaster and other third-party technology partners to provide members with personalized service, support and experiences. For several years, she has also worked as a member of the ticket coordination committee for the NCAA Men’s Final Four. Fitzgerald was a member of the UofL rowing team and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport administration in 2010. She and her husband Dominick reside in southern Indiana with their three children, Royce, Remy and Roman. Jennifer Hanson Assistant Athletic Director for Fan Experience Jen Hanson is in her fifth season as Assistant Athletic Director for Fan Experience, after serving as the Cardinals’ Direc- tor of Game Production and Fan Experience for two years. Hanson leads game- day production of all football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball events, as well as oversee- ing all Olympic sports game production related to the in-house show, including videoboards, bands, spirit squads and on-field promotions. In addition to gameday, she also leads production of all in-house special events, banquets, kickoffs, fan parties and donor events. She coordinates with Louisville Sports Properties to ensure in- game sponsorship fulfillment at the highest level. In addition, she oversees the team marketing, and video departments. Prior to UofL, Hanson was the Director of Marketing at Washington State University, over- seeing all marketing aspects of football, men’s & women’s basketball, baseball, women’s soccer, tennis and golf during her six years in the Pac 12. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and an MBA from Southwest Minnesota State University. Diego Insuasty Assistant Athletic Director for Strategy and Innovation Diego Insuasty is in his 6 th season with Cardinal Athletics where he serves in his role as Assistant Ath- letic Director of Strategy and Innovation. Insuasty is a leader in the depart- ments overall new season ticket membership model while overseeing the revenue generation and service efforts of the Tickets Sales & Retention Depart- ment. Prior to his current role, Insuasty was a part of the Cardinal Athletic Fund where he solicited major gifts for capital campaigns and special projects as well premium seating for football and basketball. He came to Louisville from his home town of Floral Park, New York where he worked for the New York Mets as manager of premium services for over 10 years. He’s responsible for the day-to-day monitor- ing and administration of several functional areas in compliance with primary emphasis on recruiting/ monitoring, playing seasons, personnel, amateur- ism and rules education. Other duties include working closely with the men’s/women’s basketball and football programs, advising on NIL and assist- ing with national governance/legislation. Prior to UofL, Morrissey worked at the Uni- versity of Maine for three years as the Director of Compliance. In this role, he served as the senior compliance administrator including oversight of all compliance related activities. Morrissey earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from the University of New England in 2013, then graduated with a master’s in sport administration from UofL in 2014 while serving as an intern in the athletic department. He received a graduate certificate in managerial analytics in 2022 from UofL. A native of Wakefield, R.I., Morrissey resides in Louisville with his wife Olivia and their daughter Eloise. Alyssa Murphy Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Leadership and Development Alyssa Murphy is in her 19th year at the University of Louis- ville, including the last eight years with Cardinal Athletics, while currently serving as Assistant Ath- letic Director for Student-Athlete Leadership and Development. Murphy joined UofL in 2005, working with new student orientation, undergraduate recruitment, merit based scholarships, and campus visit programs in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Murphy transitioned into athletics in February 2016 as the Director of Student-Athlete Leader- ship and Development, focusing on working with student-athletes to increase and strengthen their leadership skills, develop personal life skills, pre- pare for internship opportunities, develop career and graduate school plans, engage in community service along with mentorship and a commitment to social justice and advocacy. These components are all part of the Beyond The Buzzer program- ming model. A native of Sacramento, Calif, Murphy earned her undergraduate degree in political science at San Diego State University in 1998, followed by a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Miami (Ohio) University in 2000.Murphy has been working with undergraduate students for more than 25 years at Miami, Rollins College (Fla.), Emory University (Ga.) and UofL.Murphy, and her husband Bill, have three young adult children: Sammy, Hannah, and Zachary. Andrew McClung Assistant AD for Stadium and Facility Operations Andrew McClung is currently in his 20th year working at UofL, includ- ing his 13th as a full-time employee. He had previously served as Director of Sta- dium & Facility Opera- tions, as well as Facilities Operation Assistant prior to that. He also worked for the athletic department as a graduate assistant, intern and volunteer. McClung oversees day-to-day operations for L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, Jim Patterson Stadium and Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium, as well as The Alley, Lee Street Golf Facility, Thorntons Academic Center for Excellence and the Trager Center. He manages three full-time staff members and oversees the facility intern/volunteer program, as well as scheduling and managing team practices and special events in the Trager Center. McClung serves as the visiting team liaison and building lead for all UofL home football games and other major events in the stadium, as well as leading execution of stadium operations with ESPN, ACC and other broadcast partners. He organizes facility maintenance repairs with athletic facility staff, UofL Physical Plant and out- side contractors, and is the athletic representative for the UofL Sustainability Committee. McClung graduated from UofL with a bach- elor’s degree in sport administration in 2008, as well as a master’s degree in sport administration 2010. Justin Ruffin Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services A veteran administra- tor, Justin Ruffin enters his 20th year working in intercollegiate athletics and serves as the sport administrator for the men’s and women’s ten- nis program. Ruffin is on the senior staff leadership team, participant and a member of several cam- pus wide committees and organizations including the university›s Strategically Organizing Against Racism (S.O.A.R.) Committee, Bias Response Team, Name Image and Likeness Board, and Committee on Academic Performance (CAP). At the conference level, Ruffin serves on the ACC C.O.R.E. Ruffin is also responsible for managing and reviewing initial and continuing eligibility, along with weekly academic progress and support for the football, men’s soccer, and women’s volleyball teams. Additionally, he monitors community and career services for those sports, while also supervising the learning specialists and coordi- nating professional development opportunities for the graduate assistants. Prior to the University of Louisville, Ruffin served five years at James Madison University. At JMU, Ruffin was responsible for the aca- demic development, management, and coor- dination of football, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s swimming, wrestling, and men’s and women’s tennis programs. He assisted with developing and implementing academic strategic plans and procedures for programs designed to cultivate both an environment that supports elite performance and a first-class student-athlete experience that prepared them for life after sport. Ruffin is a former student-athlete at James Madison University, earning All-Conference rec- ognition as a defensive back for the football team and lettering three years on the baseball team. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Inte- grated Science and Technology and later earned his Master of Science in Athletic Administration from JMU. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Ruffin is a mem- ber of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), and the Minor- ity Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA). Justin and Erika have three sons: Justin Jr, Jayson, and Joshua. Lauren Rust Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Lauren Rust is in her 16th year at the Univer- sity of Louisville and her 12th with Cardinal Ath- letics, currently serving as Assistant Athletic Direc- tor for Compliance. Rust is responsible for the eligibility of ini- tial and transfer student-athletes, as well as the financial aid for football, women’s basket- ball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving student-athletes, plus assisting in the eligibility of those continuing student-athletes, Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR) reports. She also serves as the sport administrator for the Cardinals’ men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs. She has worked the last three years in her cur- rent position after three years as UofL’s Director of Compliance. She joined the UofL athletics staff in August of 2011 after three years as Asso- ciate Director of Advising in the UofL College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to her arrival at UofL, Rust worked six years at the Thornton Athletics Student Life Center at the University of Tennessee. She was an Academic Athletic Counselor for women’s swimming, rowing and women’s golf (2002- 05), as well as Assistant Director overseeing all academic counselors and serving as the primary academic counselor for men’s basketball and women’s volleyball (2005-08). Rust also worked a year in Membership Services for the NCAA as an intern in 2001-02. Rust earned a B.A. in Exercise Science at Morehead State University (Ky.) in 1999. She graduated with a M.A. in Sport Administration at Morehead State in 2001 while serving as a graduate assistant in athletics. A native of Louisville, Rust and her husband Rich have two children: Garrett and Brynlee. Scott Sallade Assistant Athletic Director for Student Services Scott Sallade, Assis- tant Athletic Director for Student Services, is in his 27th year as a staff member of the Thorn- tons Academic Center of Excellence. He oversees academic support for spirit groups, in addi- tion to other responsibilities, including sport administration, continuing eligibility and cam- pus involvement. He has been at UofL since 1987 and has worked in several areas of the university includ- ing Housing and Residence Life, Admissions and Orientation and Intramural and Recre- ational Sports. Keith Schobert Assistant AD for Facility and Arena Operations Keith Schobert has been with UofL since 2020 and has over 18 years of professional experience in facility and event man- agement. He previously served as UofL’s Director of Arena & Facility Op- erations. Schobert is the primary liaison with the ASM-Global staff at the KFC Yum! Center and the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning for all UofL Athletics events, including coordinating game operations, practice schedules, event staffing plans, post-event invoicing and general oversight of facility usage to adhere to ACC policy guidelines. He also serves as primary game operations manager for men’s basketball games at the KFC Yum! Center. He supervises two full-time direct report employees for game operations and day-to-day facility management of seven campus athletic facilities for men’s and women’s basketball, field hockey, women’s lacrosse, softball, track & field and volleyball. He also oversees two graduate stu- dent interns in the Louisville Athletics Internship Program program. Schobert also serves as field level manager for home football games, coordinating with game of- ficials and overseeing enforcement of ACC policies and procedures. Most recently, he served as tournament man- ager for the 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball South Regional at the KFC Yum! Center in March 2023. Schobert’s previous experience includes stops at UT-Arlington, Wichita State, Ole Miss and North Texas. He also has worked for a private public facility management company with SMG at Intrust Bank Arena, as well as working with the WNBA’s Dallas Wings. Schobert received his bachelor’s degree in physi- cal education from Tabor College in 2002 and a master’s in sport administration from Wichita State in 2005.
