The comprehensive campaign targets three critical areas of support: nRed & Black Scholar Rewards n Increased Summer School access nDegree Completion Program funding The Red and Black Scholar Awards is a financial academic reward given to student-athletes annually. Louisville’s student-athletes will be eligible to receive the maximum allowable reward under new NCAA legislation – to be split between the fall and spring semesters. Individual awards will be based upon retention and eligibility, full-time enrollment status, completion of life skills components; remain in good standing with University Student Code of Conduct and Athletic Department Student-Athlete Code of Conduct; and have active roster status for their respective sports. UofL was recognized in July as a recipient of the Team Academic Excellence Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). In order to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, a program must achieve a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the previous academic year. Each institution must count the GPA of all men’s basketball student-athletes who were listed on the team roster the previ- ous season. Four Cardinals, including current Cardinal Aidan McCool, were also named to the NABC Honors Court for attaining a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. At their previous schools, Patrick Antonelli (Emory & Henry) and Frank Anselem-Ibe (Georgia) also earned Hon- ors Court status.
