Need to know facts about the Cats: • Sahvir Wheeler sits atop the confer- ence and 17th nationally with a 5.5-to-1 as- sist-to-turnover ratio. Wheeler leads the SEC and ranks fourth nationally with 8.2 assists per game • Since the start of the 2019-20 season, his freshman season at Georgia, Wheeler's 572 total assists ranks second nationally, only behind the 603 by Yuri Collins of Saint Louis • Cason Wallace leads the SEC and ranks third nationally with 17 total steals • Wallace has totaled 23 assists and 17 steals through the first five games of his col- lege career. The freshman is the only player in the country with at least 23 assists and 17 steals • Wallace is third nationally in field-goal percentage (58.1%) among players with at least 20 total assists • Oscar Tshiebwe's 22-point, 18-rebound game against Michigan State was the third such contest of his UK Career. He now has three of the six 20 or more and at least 18 re- bounds in a game by an SEC player in the last 10 seasons. No other player has more than one and the feat had not been accomplished since South Carolina's Sindarius Thornwell did so against Alabama on Feb. 7, 2017 •Tshiebwe also has tallied a pair of 20-point, 15 rebound games so far this sea- son and has five over the last two seasons. He has nine of the 51 20-point, Streaking at Home With a victory over Ole Miss in the home finale, Kentucky notched a perfect 18-0 re- cord in Rupp Arena for 2021-22. With its win over South Carolina State, Kentucky extend- ed its home winning streak to 22 games. That mark is the longest current home winning streak in the Southeastern Conference. • 2021-22 was the 14th perfect season in the 46-year history of Rupp Arena • It marked the sixth time under Calipa- ri the Cats were perfect at home. Calipari's teams were also spotless in 2009-10, 2010- 11, 2011-12, 2014-15 and 2015-16 • UK is 636-77 (89.2%) in Rupp Arena in program history • The Cats are 209-17 (92.5%) under Calipari • Calipari owns the venue's longest win- ning streak at 54 games Cats Deliver the Knockout Punch Kentucky is 313-13 (96.0%) in the John Calipari era when leading by at least 10 points at any time in the contest. Ten of the 13 losses in the Calipari era are to conference opponents. Perhaps most impressive of all is that 69.2% of games Calipari has coached in at Kentucky have produced 10-point leads at some point during the game for UK. The Wildcats have led by 10 points or more in a whopping 85.1% of Calipari’s 368 career wins at Kentucky. Hold Them to 55 Points, 40% Defense has always been a recipe for suc- cess for the Wildcats under John Calipari. The special ingredient: 55 points. Kentucky is a perfect 84-0 under Calipari when holding the opponent to 55 points or fewer, including 1-0 this season after limiting Duquesne to 52 points. The Wildcats are 205-9 (95.8%) under Calipari when limiting the opponent to 63 points or less, including 3-0 this season. Kentucky also fares well when it keeps the competition to 40% or less from the floor. UK is 225-24 (90.4%) vs. opponents under Calipari when its field-goal percentage is 40% or less. Kentucky has held three of its first four op- ponents below 40%. Cats Don't (Historically) Count on the 3 Kentucky has never been reliant on the 3 under John Calipari. Even with more shooters at their disposal, the 2021-22 sea- son was not an exception for the Wildcats. However, the 2022-23 squad looks poised to be one of Calipari's best from long range. Kentucky is averaging 31.6% of its points from distance while 35.4% of its field-goal attempts are from 3-point range. Not only are the Cats shooting from dis- tance, they're converting their attempts as well. Sharpshooter Antonio Reeves has drained 16, while CJ Fredrick has knocked down 11 thus far. Combined, the duo is 27-66 (40.9%) from 3-point range. The highest percentage of 3-point shots taken under Calipari was the 2010-11 Final Four team that lofted 32.4% of its shots from beyond the arc. That team is also Calipa- ri's top 3-point shooting team at Kentucky. The most attempts per game in the Calipari era was the 2016-17 squad that took 19.89 3-point shots per game. This team is averag- ing 23.4 attempts per game thus far. Not relying on the 3 certainly hasn't hurt the Wildcats. UK is 10-3 all-time under Calipari when making one or fewer from long range. He helped lead UK to three SEC championships and two Elite Eight appearances, finishing the regu- lar season ranked No. 1 his senior season. A native of Dayton, Ohio, he was a three- year starter for the Wildcats and was a part of one of the best trios in program history under legendary head coach Adolph Rupp. The trio, which included Dan Issel and Mike Casey, accounted for more than 5,000 points and 2,300 rebounds in just three sea- sons of varsity action. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged 16.8 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per out- ing in 81 career games played at UK. Pratt also amassed 29 double-doubles through- out his career. His best performance came in a 102-100 win against Notre Dame in Freedom Hall on Dec. 27, 1969. Pratt poured in a career-high 42 points and added eight rebounds. He was a perfect 10 for 10 at the free-throw line. Pratt played two seasons with the Ken- tucky Colonels of the American Basketball Association and was later an assistant coach on UNC Charlotte’s 1977 Final Four Team, before becoming head coach of the 49ers in 1978. Following a stint as a professional scout, he then moved into broadcasting in 1985. Pratt worked with the Charlotte Hornets Television Network, ESPN and Fox Sports South. Since the 2001-02 season, Pratt had been courtside for every Kentucky men’s basketball game as the UK Sports Network’s radio color analyst alongside play-by-play announcer Tom Leach. Pratt was on the call for 558 wins, high- lighted by the 2012 National Championship victory.
