UK is 20-4 under Coach Pope and 4-1 this season when making at least 10 long balls • UK tied its season high for assists, regis- tering 27 for the third time this season • Jasper Johnson scored a career-best 22 points, becoming the eighth different play- er to lead or co-lead the Cats in scoring in a game this season • Otega Oweh had a season-high 21 points. He is averaging 17.25 points per game over his last four outings. He also claimed a season-high seven rebounds and had a sea- son-best four steals, his fifth consecutive game with multiple thefts • Collin Chandler finished with eight as- sists, the most by a Wildcat this season • Zach Tow made his first field goal as a Wildcat, sinking a 3-pointer Balanced on the Stats Sheet Balance has been the name of the game for the Cats thus far this season. • UK has had eight different leading scor- ers or co-leaders through the first 10 games. • UK has also had six different players lead or co-lead in rebounds • Six players have led or co-led in assists • Kentucky has had nine players score at least six points in three games already this season (Valparaiso, Eastern Illinois, Loyola (Md.)) Happy to Assist True to the team's "Make Plays for Team- mates" motto, Kentucky has done a nice job sharing the basketball this season. • The Wildcats are averaging 19.1 as- sists per game, ranking 19th in the country • In wins, UK is posting 24.0 assists per game, the most among power conference schools and tied for the eighth most in Di- vision I. • Just two teams in college basketball have had 27 or more assists in three different games this season: Kentucky and Indiana • Ten different players are averaging at least 1.0 assist per game • All 11 scholarship players who have seen action this season have at least one game with three or more assists Injury Bug Bites Again Kentucky has yet to play a game at full strength this season, with sophomore Jayden Quaintance still out with a knee injury. How- ever, UK's injuries extend beyond just Quain- tance's absense: • Otega Oweh missed the majority of pre- season camp with turf toe. He returned to full action just prior to UK's two exhibition games • Jaland Lowe suffered a shoulder injury in the Blue-White Game, and missed both exhibition games and the season-opener. He returned to face Valpo and Louisville before re-injurying his shoulder. He then missed five straight, before appearing for 14 minutes in the loss to Gonzaga • Mo Dioubate suffered a high ankle sprain against Michigan State. He has not returned to action since that injury From Press Row 14 n @KentuckyMBB KENTUCKY BASKETBALLWe’re your Shield. We’re your Shelter.
