Head coach Tim Garrison will be in his 12th season at the helm of the Kentucky program this year. Garrison, UK’s all-time winningest gymnastics coach, recently signed a contract extension through the 2026 season. The 2022 Cats were ranked in the top 10 of the national poll for much of last season. Now, the core of that team is back as Kentucky attempts to get back to the national meet. Already one of the most decorated gymnasts in program history, Raena Wor- ley returns for her senior season this year. Worley represented the Cats in the all- around competition at the NCAA nation- al championships last season, finishing in 12th place overall. She was named first- team All-American in the all-around last season, while earning second-team hon- ors on floor and the bars. Arianna Patterson was a senior last sea- son but she decided to use her “COVID” year to return to Kentucky for a fifth sea- son of competition. Patterson excelled on the beam and the vault last season. Junior Hailey Davis also returns this season after competing in the nation- al meet, in the floor exercise, in 2022. Davis, who was a major contributor for Kentucky last season, is expected to do the same in 2023. Junior Bailey Bunn battled injuries last season and missed a large portion of the competition schedule. Now healthy, Bunn is expected to return to the form of her freshman year, when she was named to the All-SEC Freshman team. Another junior, Isabella Magnelli, is also expected to make big contributions for the Cats this season. In 2022, the Suffern, New York, native was a steady competitor on the beam, floor and vault for Kentucky. A blend of other returnees, along with a talented recruiting class, will compete for spots in the Kentucky rotations this season. In addition to Excite Night, Kentucky will host Alabama on Jan. 27, Eastern Michigan on Feb. 10, Arkansas on Feb. 17 and Auburn, for senior night, on March 3. The 2023 SEC Championships will be held in Duluth, Georgia, on March 18. NCAA Regional Championships will be held at various sites March 29-31 and the NCAA National Championships will be conducted April 13-15 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The season begins with the annual Blue-White Meet, which will be on Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. inside Memorial Coliseum. The regular season starts on Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. with the annual Excite Night event, this year against LSU, at Rupp Arena. Season tickets are on sale and can be purchased at https://ukathletics.com/tick- eting/gymnastics/ or by calling the UK Ticket Office at 1-800-928-2287.
