< PreviousWEEKNIGHTS 7:30 p.m. SATURDAY 9:00 a.m. 12 @KentuckyMBB14 @KentuckyMBB From Press Row Wildcats Pull Away from Georgia State Seven players scored in double figures as Kentucky reached the 100-point threshold for the fourth time already this season in a 105-76 victory at home over Georgia State. Jaxson Robinson was the team's leading scorer with 19 points, while Lamont Butler had 17 points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals. Amari Williams scored all 14 of his points in the second half, while Ansley Almonor, Otega Oweh, Koby Brea and An- drew Carr were the other Wildcats in dou- ble-figures. UK led by as many as 35 in what ended in a 29-point win. Some additional notes from the win: • Kentucky has a 7-0 start for the first time since the 2016-17 team won its first seven. The last time UK was 8-0 to begin a season was in 2014-15, when the team started 38-0 before falling in the Final Four. • UK shot 80.5 percent from 2-point range in the win. It was the highest 2-point field goal percentage for a Kentucky team in any game in its history. The second highest was a 78.1 percent 2-point field goal per- formance against Lamar on Dec. 13, 1986. • The Cats scored 105 points despite shooting just 26.9 percent from 3-point range. It was just the third time since 1996- 97 that UK has shot less than 30 percent from deep and scored at least 100 points (2008 vs. VMI and 1996 vs. Purdue) • It was the first time Kentucky has had seven players finish in double figures in a game since March 2, 2024 vs. Arkansas • Four players set season-highs in points in the win: Butler (17), Williams (14), Alm- onor (12) and Kriisa (9) • The Cats are 6-0 inside Rupp Arena on the year and have scored a total of 600 points, good for an average of 100 per home contest ACC-SEC Challenge The matchup between Kentucky and Clemson is a part of the 2024 "ACC-SEC Challenge" an event now in its second year. This year's edition will feature 16 men's games and 16 women's games from Dec. 3-5, between schools from the two conferences. Both the men's and women's competi- tions finished tied in year one with seven wins apiece in each series for both leagues. The Kentucky men defeated Miami, 95-73, inside Rupp Arena last November. Balanced Attack The Wildcats are off to a 7-0 start in large part thanks to their veteran experience. But it has been the balance of attack, both offen- sively and defensively that has aided UK's start. • Kentucky has had four different lead- ing scorers through seven games (Brea - 2, Oweh - 2, Carr - 2, Robinson - 2) • Six players are averaging double-figure points through seven • UK has five players who have generated 18 or more assists (2.57 per game) or more thus far, led by Kerr Krii- sa's 4.3 per game • Five players have drained eight or more 3s, with Koby Brea pacing the team with 25 made 3-pointers thus far • Kentucky is outrebounding its foes by 9.7 per game. Nine players are averaging 2.0 boards per game or more • The Cats have induced 55 steals and swatted 42 shots. Ten players have generat- ed multiple steals, while eight have at least two blocks thus far • Kentucky has held six of seven oppo- nents below 40% from the field and five of seven opponents to less than 20% from dis- tance • UK's 3-point percentage defense (24.9%) ranks seventh in the country • UK is averaging 35.7 bench points per game Know Your Opponent • Clemson is 7-1 on the season, its only loss coming on the road to Boise State • The Tigers reached the Elite Eight in last year's NCAA Tournament, and are one of four Elite Eight teams from 2024 on Ken- tucky's schedule this season (Duke, Clem- son, Alabama, Tennessee) • Chase Hunter is leading the team in scoring, averaging 16.4 points per game • Forward Ian Schieffelin is averaging 11.6 rebounds per game, ranking him tied for third in the country. He also leads the team in assists with 29 • Clemson is shooting 39.8 percent from 3-point range on the year, the top mark in the ACC and 19th in the country • The Tigers were picked fourth in the ACC preseason poll. Both Hunter and Schieffelin were preseason all-league picks The Century "Mark" Kentucky's offense has ambushed op- ponents in the early season, particularly in the friendly confines of Rupp Arena. UK is averaging 96.7 points per game, the most in the nation by nearly 4.0 points per game as of Nov. 29. The Cats are scoring 100.0 points per game at home and have already eclipsed the century mark in four games this season. It marks the first time UK has scored 100 points in four of its first seven games since the 1977-78 season. The Wildcats' most 100-point outings in a single season is 15 during the 1970-71 season.Thank You to Our CORNERSTONE PARTNERSNEAround the SEC Around the Country 2024-25 SEC Standings and Statistics Team SEC Overall Home Road Florida 0-0 8-0 4-01-0 Auburn 0-0 7-0 3-00-0 Kentucky 0-0 7-0 4-00-0 Oklahoma 0-0 7-0 4-00-0 Tennessee 0-0 7-0 4-01-0 Georgia 0-0 7-1 5-01-0 Vanderbilt 0-0 7-1 5-00-0 LSU 0-0 6-1 4-01-0 Ole Miss 0-0 6-1 4-00-0 Mississippi State 0-0 6-1 3-01-0 Missouri 0-0 6-1 6-00-1 Texas 0-0 6-1 4-00-0 Alabama 0-0 6-2 3-00-1 Texas A&M 0-0 6-2 4-00-1 Arkansas 0-0 5-2 5-00-0 South Carolina 0-0 4-3 3-10-1 Scoring Player-Team ...................................................................PPG Johnson, Tre - Texas .....................................................21.14 Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................20.71 Hubbard, Josh - MISS ST .............................................19.14 Thiero, Adou - ARK ......................................................19.14 Moore, Jalon - OK .......................................................18.43 Rebounding Player-Team ...................................................................RPG Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................12.86 Williams, Amari - UK ..................................................10.00 Murphy, KeShawn - MISS ST .........................................9.00 Murray-Boyles, Collin - SC ...........................................8.71 McGlockton, Devin - VU ..............................................8.63 Assists Player-Team ...................................................................APG Zeigler, Zakai - UT .......................................................7.86 Murray, Jaylen - MISS ....................................................4.86 Fland, Boogie - ARK .....................................................4.86 Taylor IV, Wade - T A&M ...............................................4.63 Elvis, Kobe - OK ...........................................................4.57 Fears, Jeremiah - OK ......................................................4.57 Steals Player-Team ...................................................................SPG Thiero, Adou - ARK ........................................................2.86 Matthews, Cameron - MISS ST .......................................2.71 Murrell, Matthew - MISS ................................................2.67 Pedulla, Sean - MISS .....................................................2.57 Fears, Jeremiah - OK .....................................................2.57 Blocks Player-Team ...................................................................BPG Broome, Johni - AUB .....................................................3.14 Ivisic, Zvonimir - ARK ....................................................2.71 Shedrick, Kadin - Texas ..................................................2.14 Okpara, Felix - UT ........................................................2.00 McGlockton, Devin - VU ..............................................1.75 Cyril, Somto - UGA ......................................................1.75 (statistics through November 30 games) 2024-25 Associated Press Rankings As of December 2, 2024 (week 5 ) Team Record Points 1 Kansas (19) 7-0760 2 Auburn (12) 7-0755 3 Tennessee 7-0694 4 Marquette 8-0646 5 Iowa State 5-1629 6 Kentucky 7-0628 7 Purdue 7-1535 8 Gonzaga 7-1517 9 Duke 5-2472 10 Oregon 8-0457 11 Wisconsin 8-0450 12 Alabama 6-2441 13 Florida 8-0427 14 Cincinnati 6-0376 15 Memphis 6-1265 16 Baylor 5-2262 17 Illinois 6-1234 18 Houston 4-3221 19 Pittsburgh 7-1213 20 Ole Miss 6-1139 21 Oklahoma 7-0111 22 North Carolina 4-396 23 Michigan 6-190 24 Texas A&M 6-286 25 Michigan State 6-273 18 @KentuckyMBBWe’re your Shield.
