The game was back-and-forth early, but UK's last lead came with nine minutes to go in the fist half, with the Cats up 21-20. From there, OSU would score the next eight points and close the half on a 19-9 run to lead, 39-30 at the intermission. The Wildcats were within six, trailing 51-45 with 14:54 to play, but would get no closer. Leading 70-61 with 4:23 to play, the Buckeyes put the game away with a 9-0 run. Some additional notes from the game: • It marked the third time this season in which Otega Oweh has scored exactly 21 points (Wright State, Jackson State, Ohio State). Oweh is the only UK player to score in double figures in every game this season. • Oweh was a career-best 13-13 from the line. It tied for the fifth-best free throw performance in program history as four Wildcats have had games making 14 of 14 from the line • Jaxson Robinson and Koby Brea each made a pair of 3-pointers. Both Robinson and Brea have 10 games this season with multiple made 3s. Nonconference Finale Kentucky concludes the nonconference portion of its schedule on New Year's Eve against Brown looking to add another vic- tory before SEC play begins. A win would give the Wildcats an 11-2 mark in non-con action, which would be the program's best record outside of the league since going 11-2 in 2021-22. Cats Against the "Ancient Eight" It its 122nd season, Kentucky men's bas- ketball will finally complete its round-rob- in through the famed Ivy League. UK will meet Brown for the first time in program history on Tuesday, meaning the Wildcats will have now faced all eight Ivy League institutions. The Cats are 18-3 against Ivy opponents all-time and have won 14-straight, their last loss coming in 1967 to Cornell. UK is 6-0 against UPenn, its most recent foe, (Dec., 2023) and most frequently faced, Ivy League foe. Know Your Opponent Brown will take on its second-consecu- tive "Blue Blood" when the Bears travel to Rupp Arena to face Kentucky. Brown lost to Kansas, 87-53, in the team's most recent game, but prior to that had won six straight contests. Senior Kino Lilly Jr. is the team's leading scorer, averaging 20.0 points per game while shooting 42.7 percent from deep. The 6-foot guard also leads the team in assists with 40 dimes through 11 games. The Bears also feature the top two shot blockers in the Ivy League in Landon Lewis and N'famara Dabo. Brown was picked to finish third. 1K Wildcats With Kerr Kriisa and Koby Brea crossing the 1,000 career points threshold in consecutive games vs. Gonzaga and Colgate, Kentucky now has six players (Ansley Almonor, Lamont Butler, Andrew Carr, Kerr Kriisa and Amari Wil- liams) who have all eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau for their collegiate careers. Jaxson Robinson is nearing the mile- stone, needing just 18 more points.Thank You to Our CORNERSTONE PARTNERSNEAround the SEC Around the Country 2024-25 SEC Standings and Statistics Team SEC Overall Home Road Florida 0-0 13-0 7-0 1-0 Oklahoma 0-0 13-0 7-0 0-0 Tennessee 0-0 12-0 7-0 2-0 Georgia 0-0 12-1 9-0 1-0 Auburn 0-0 11-1 5-0 0-1 Mississippi State 0-0 11-1 5-0 2-0 Vanderbilt 0-0 11-1 7-0 1-0 Alabama 0-0 11-2 6-0 2-1 LSU 0-0 11-2 9-0 1-0 Ole Miss 0-0 11-2 7-0 1-1 Texas 0-0 11-2 8-1 1-0 Texas A&M 0-0 11-2 7-0 0-1 Arkansas 0-0 10-2 7-0 1-0 Kentucky 0-0 10-2 6-0 0-1 Missouri 0-0 10-2 10-0 0-1 South Carolina 0-0 9-3 7-1 1-1 Scoring Player-Team ...................................................................PPG Johnson, Tre - Texas .....................................................19.73 Lanier, Chaz - UT ........................................................19.25 Edwards, Jason - VU ....................................................18.92 Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................18.50 Fears, Jeremiah - OK ....................................................18.08 Rebounding Player-Team ...................................................................RPG Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................11.50 Murray-Boyles, Collin - SC ............................................9.33 Williams, Amari - UK ....................................................9.00 Nelson, Grant - UA .......................................................8.62 Kaluma, Arthur - Texas ...................................................8.46 Assists Player-Team ...................................................................APG Zeigler, Zakai - UT ........................................................8.25 Fland, Boogie - ARK .....................................................6.17 Taylor IV, Wade - TA&M ................................................5.00 Larry, Julian - Texas ........................................................4.46 Fears, Jeremiah - OK .................................................... 4.46 Steals Player-Team ...................................................................SPG Phelps, Zhuric - TA&M ..................................................2.58 Mashack, Jahmai - UT ..................................................2.50 Robinson II, Anthony - MO ...........................................2.50 Pedulla, Sean - UM .......................................................2.46 Matthews, Cameron - MISS ST ......................................2.42 Tanner, Tyler - VU ..........................................................2.42 Blocks Player-Team ...................................................................BPG Broome, Johni - AUB .....................................................2.58 Ivisic, Zvonimir - ARK ....................................................2.09 Shedrick, Kadin - Texas ..................................................2.00 Cyril, Somto - UGA .......................................................2.00 Collins, Daimion - LSU ..................................................1.91 (statistics through December 29 games) 2024-25 Associated Press Rankings As of December 30, 2024 (week 9) Team Record Points 1 Tennessee (41) 12-0 1504 2 Auburn (20) 11-1 1481 3 Iowa State 10-1 1392 4 Duke 10-2 1321 5 Alabama 11-2 1238 6 Florida 13-0 1202 7 Kansas 9-2 1084 8 Marquette 11-2 1037 9 Oregon 12-1 979 10 Kentucky 10-2 958 11 UConn 10-3 904 12 Oklahoma 13-0 863 13 Texas A&M 11-2 812 14 Houston 8-3 626 15 UCLA 11-2 571 16 Cincinnati 10-1 551 17 Mississippi State 11-1 483 18 Michigan State 10-2 473 19 Gonzaga 9-4 383 20 Purdue 9-4 281 21 Memphis 10-3 213 22 Illinois 9-3 193 23 Arkansas 10-2 174 24 Ole Miss 11-2 165 25 Baylor 8-3 139 18 @KentuckyMBBWe’re your Shield.
