Andrew Carr had 13 points and Otega Oweh added 11 as Kentucky won its sec- ond straight game. The Cats made 24 of 52 (46.2 percent) from the field, including 9 of 27 (33.3 percent) from beyond the arc. Kentucky hit 24 of 31 at the line and outre- bounded the Aggies 40-30. Some additional notes from the game: • The Cats improve to 5-0 this season against AP Top-15 opponents. The five wins against teams ranked inside the top 15 are the most in the country. • Kentucky has won all 14 games this season when scoring at least 70 points. • All nine Wildcats who played also scored. • Kentucky won the rebounding 40-30, only the third time this season that TAMU has been outrebounded and the +10 margin is the largest vs. the Aggies this season. • Texas A&M entered the game with an average margin of +9.9 per game. • TAMU also has been dominant on the offensive boards and UK won sec- ond-chance points, 13-11. • Kentucky had 19 assists on 24 made baskets, an assist rate of 79.2 percent. • Kentucky won despite giving up a sea- son-high 17 turnovers. Another Top-10 Showdown Saturday's matchup between No. 4 Al- abama and No. 8 Kentucky will mark the third straight top-15 matchup at home for the Wildcats (Florida, Texas A&M, Ala- bama). That is the first such instance UK has hosted three straight top-15 teams. The game will also be the third straight regular-season matchup, home or away, against a top-15 ranked team (Mississip- pi State, Texas A&M, Alabama). Kentucky has previously faced top-15 teams three straight games in the regular season, four times in its history: 1956-57, 1973-74, 1984-85 and 1993-94. UK was 2-1 in those games in '57, 0-3 in both '74 and '85 and 1-2 in '94. Kentucky is 5-0 against teams ranked inside of the top 15 of the AP poll this season. The Cats are the only team in the nation with five victories against top 15 op- ponents. Two of those victories have come within the friendly confines of Rupp Arena (Florida, Texas A&M), two came on neutral courts (Duke, Gonzaga), and one in a true road game (Mississippi State). Know Your Opponent Two of the nation's most prolific offenses will square off inside of Rupp Arena at Cen- tral Bank Center on Saturday when Alabama visits Kentucky. The Tide enter the matchup with a 14-3 overall mark and a 3-1 record against league foes. Alabama leads the country at 89.5 points per game, while the Cats average 88.7 per game which is the third highest in the country. KenPom ranks UK's offense as the sec- ond-most efficient in the country, while Alabama's ranks ninth. Both teams play up-tempo and average more than 27 3-point attempts per game. All-American and SEC Player of the Year Mark Sears paves the way for the Tide. Sears averages a team-high 18.6 points per game and has drained 42 3-pointers on the season. He also contributes 4.5 assists per game. Grant Nelson nearly logs a dou- ble-double with 12.0 points per game and a team-high 8.6 boards per outing . Saturday's matchup will mark the sev- enth meeting all-time between the two programs with both teams ranked inside of the AP Top 10, but first since the 1982-83 season.Thank You to Our CORNERSTONE PARTNERSNEAround the SEC Around the Country 2024-25 SEC Standings and Statistics Team SEC Overall Home Road Auburn 4-0 16-1 8-0 2-1 Ole Miss 4-0 15-2 9-0 3-1 Tennessee 3-1 16-1 10-0 3-1 Alabama 3-1 14-3 7-1 4-1 Kentucky 3-1 14-3 9-0 1-2 Missouri 3-1 14-3 13-0 1-2 Florida 2-2 15-2 8-1 2-1 Georgia 2-2 14-3 11-0 1-2 Mississippi State 2-2 14-3 7-1 3-1 Vanderbilt 2-2 14-3 9-1 2-1 Texas A&M 2-2 13-4 8-1 1-2 LSU 1-3 12-5 10-1 1-2 Texas 1-3 12-5 8-3 2-1 Oklahoma 0-4 13-4 7-2 0-2 Arkansas 0-4 11-6 8-2 1-2 South Carolina 0-4 10-7 8-3 1-3 Scoring Player-Team ...................................................................PPG Johnson, Tre - Texas .....................................................18.73 Sears, Mark - UA .........................................................18.59 Lanier, Chaz - UT ........................................................18.18 Moore, Jalon - OK .......................................................18.06 Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................17.88 Rebounding Player-Team ...................................................................RPG Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................10.69 Murray-Boyles, Collin - SC ............................................9.12 Williams, Amari - UK ....................................................8.65 Milicic Jr., Igor - UT .......................................................8.65 Nelson, Grant - UA .......................................................8.59 Assists Player-Team ...................................................................APG Zeigler, Zakai - UT ........................................................7.53 Fland, Boogie - ARK ......................................................5.71 Taylor IV, Wade - TA&M ................................................4.85 Butler, Lamont - UK .....................................................4.73 Sears, Mark - UA ..........................................................4.59 Steals Player-Team ...................................................................SPG Matthews, Cameron - MISS ST .......................................2.59 Pedulla, Sean - UM........................................................2.35 Tanner, Tyler - VU ..........................................................2.35 Phelps, Zhuric - TA&M ..................................................2.31 Murrell, Matthew - UM ................................................2.15 Blocks Player-Team ...................................................................BPG Broome, Johni - AUB .....................................................2.69 Cyril, Somto - UGA .......................................................1.94 Collins, Daimion - LSU ..................................................1.80 Shedrick, Kadin - Texas ..................................................1.76 Ivisic, Zvonimir - ARK ....................................................1.75 2024-25 Associated Press Rankings As of January 13, 2025 (week 11) Team Record Points 1 Auburn (60) 15-1 1548 2 Iowa State 14-1 1469 3 Duke (1) 14-2 1403 4 Alabama 14-2 1338 5 Florida (1) 15-1 1326 6 Tennessee 15-1 1251 7 Marquette 14-2 1184 8 Kentucky 13-3 1039 9 Kansas 12-3 983 10 Houston 12-3 935 11 Texas A&M 13-3 883 12 Michigan State 14-2 797 13 Oregon 15-2 781 14 UConn 13-4 665 15 Mississippi State 14-2 624 16 Gonzaga 14-4 569 17 Purdue 13-4 553 18 Memphis 13-3 511 19 Illinois 12-4 496 20 Michigan 13-3 418 21 Ole Miss 14-2 351 22 Utah State 16-1 250 23 Georgia 14-2 221 24 Wisconsin 13-3 132 25 Baylor 11-4 119 18 @KentuckyMBBWe’re your Shield.
