Official Grocer of UK Athletics.WEEKNIGHTS 7:30 p.m. SATURDAY 9:00 a.m. 12 @KentuckyMBB14 @KentuckyMBB From Press Row Wildcats Fall at Alabama Koby Brea registered his fourth 20-point outing this season, and Amari Williams notched his ninth double-double, but Ken- tucky lost at No. 4 Alabama on Saturday, 96-83. Andrew Carr has 17 points, while Travis Perry recorded a career-high 12 points. Kentucky led for the majority of the first half, with the Cats' biggest lead coming at 9:37 to go in the opening frame at 30-18. From there, Alabama finished the half on an extended 29-10 run to lead at intermis- sion, 47-40. The Wildcats would get within three points on multiple occasions but were un- able to overtake the Crimson Tide, who were led by 30 points from Mark Sears. Some additional notes from the game: • Alabama shot 52.5 percent from the field. UK is 1-4 this year when allowing op- ponents to shoot over 50 percent • UK is now 7-2 against AP Top-15 op- ponents this season, both losses coming to Alabama • Kentucky had 13 steals in the contest, the team's most in an SEC game this season and tied for the second most by the Wildcats across all games in 2024-25 • The Cats played without Lamont But- ler, Jaxson Robinson and Kerr Kriisa. UK has played only seven games at full strength this season • Amari Williams has now scored at least 17 points in three consecutive games, the first time he has done so in his college career • Williams is the first Kentucky player with at least 17 points, 11 rebounds and six assists since Jack Givens at Alabama on Jan. 29, 1977 • The 17-11-6 game for Williams is the first by a 7-footer in the SEC dating back to 1996-97 Know Your Opponent: Oklahoma Kentucky is set to play its first ever game in the state of Oklahoma as they take on a Sooners' squad that enters at 17-10 and 4-10 in the SEC. Kentucky has played OU three times in its history, winning all three contests. UK beat the Sooners in Lexington in both 1947 and 1987, before most recently winning at the Maui Invitational in 2010. Senior Jalon Moore is Oklahoma's lead- ing scorer and rebounder, averaging 17 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Fresh- man Jeremiah Fears has 107 assists, the fifth- most by any player in the SEC. Oklahoma is the top free-throw shooting team in the conference, hitting at a 78.9 per- cent clip. In the Department of Defense Kentucky's offense has been among the best in the nation all season, but the Cats have continued to work hard at improving their defensive numbers, an effort which has paid dividends over the last few weeks. After a frustrating defensive showing which saw the Cats allow 98 points on 54.7 percent shooting to Ole Miss, UK has made noticeable strides in slowing down oppo- nent's offenses. Below is a comparison of Kentucky's defensive rankings following that Ole Miss game to now. Injury Bug The Wildcats are 18-9 and have a 7-2 re- cord against Associated Press Top 15 ranked opponents. The seven wins tops the 2002- 03 (6) team for the most regular-season vic- tories against top 15 foes in program history. Kentucky is doing this despite only hav- ing a full roster for just seven games this season. UK's absences this season due to injury: Lamont Butler - 8 games (Gonzaga, Col- gate, at Tennessee, Arkansas, at Ole Miss, at Texas, Vanderbilt, at Alabama) Andrew Carr - 1 game (at Vanderbilt) Jaxson Robinson - 4 games (Tennessee, at Texas, Vanderbilt, at Alabama) Brandon Garrison - 1 game (Georgia State) Kerr Kriisa - Has not been available since Dec. 7 at GonzagaThank You to Our CORNERSTONE PARTNERSNEAround the SEC Around the Country 2024-25 SEC Standings and Statistics Team SEC Overall Home Road Auburn 13-1 25-2 12-1 7-1 Florida 11-3 24-3 13-1 6-2 Alabama 11-3 22-5 11-2 8-2 Tennessee 9-5 22-5 14-1 5-4 Missouri 9-5 20-7 17-1 3-5 Texas A&M 9-5 20-7 12-2 4-4 Ole Miss 8-6 19-8 11-3 5-4 Mississippi State 7-7 19-8 9-4 6-3 Kentucky 7-7 18-9 12-2 2-6 Vanderbilt 6-8 18-9 13-2 2-6 Arkansas 5-9 16-11 11-4 3-5 Texas 5-9 16-11 11-5 3-5 Oklahoma 4-10 17-10 10-4 1-6 Georgia 4-10 16-11 13-3 1-7 LSU 3-11 14-13 11-5 2-6 South Carolina 1-13 11-16 9-7 1-8 Scoring Player-Team PPG Johnson, Tre - Texas .....................................................20.16 Sears, Mark - UA .........................................................18.89 Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................18.56 Lanier, Chaz - UT ........................................................17.96 Hubbard, Josh - MISS ST .............................................17.85 Rebounding Player-Team ...................................................................RPG Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................11.08 Williams, Amari - UK ...................................................8.81 Murray-Boyles, Collin - SC ...........................................8.52 McGlockton, Devin - VU ..............................................7.93 Nelson, Grant - UA ......................................................7.89 Assists Player-Team ...................................................................APG Zeigler, Zakai - UT .......................................................7.46 Sears, Mark - UA ..........................................................4.78 Taylor IV, Wade - TA&M ................................................4.70 Hoggard, A.J. - VU .........................................................4.62 Clayton Jr., Walter - UF ..................................................4.00 Steals Player-Team ...................................................................SPG Matthews, Cameron - MISS ST ......................................2.52 Robinson II, Anthony - MO ...........................................2.12 Zeigler, Zakai - UT .......................................................2.00 Pedulla, Sean - UM........................................................1.96 Tanner, Tyler - VU ..........................................................1.93 Blocks Player-Team ...................................................................BPG Broome, Johni - AUB .....................................................2.56 Ivisic, Zvonimir - ARK ....................................................2.08 Shedrick, Kadin - Texas ..................................................1.78 Okpara, Felix - UT .........................................................1.78 Cyril, Somto - UGA .......................................................1.67 (statistics through February 24 games) 2024-25 Associated Press Rankings As of February 24, 2025 (week 17) Team Record Points 1 Auburn (60) 25-2 1500 2 Duke 24-3 1406 3 Florida 24-3 1397 4 Houston 23-4 1327 5 Tennessee 22-5 1236 6 Alabama 22-5 1198 7 St. John's 24-4 1132 8 Michigan State 22-5 1055 9 Iowa State 21-6 1004 10 Texas Tech 21-6 915 11 Wisconsin 21-6 800 12 Texas A&M 20-7 797 13 Clemson 22-5 712 14 Missouri 20-7 683 15 Michigan 20-6 657 16 Maryland 21-6 630 17 Kentucky 18-9 461 18 Memphis 22-5 393 19 Louisville 21-6 372 20 Purdue 19-9 328 21 Marquette 20-7 309 22 Arizona 18-9 289 23 Saint Mary's 25-4 284 24 Mississippi State 19-8 264 25 BYU 19-8 135 18 @KentuckyMBBWe’re your Shield.
