Junior Otega Oweh had 24 points, mak- ing nine of 11 shots from the floor, while adding eight rebounds and three assists as No. 19 Kentucky smashed LSU 95-64 at Rupp Arena. Kentucky (20-10, 9-8 Southeastern Con- ference) got a season-high-tying 15 points from sophomore Brandon Garrison and a career-high 11 points from freshman Collin Chandler. Yes, the UK seniors produced as well. Ansley Almonor scored a season-high 15 points. Amari Williams had nine points and six rebounds, while Andrew Carr had eight points and six rebounds. Lamont Butler added five points and five assists and Koby Brea had six points. Some additional notes from the game: • Kentucky is now 53-6 all-time in games in which its seniors are honored • The 31-point margin of victory was the largest for UK on senior day since 2003 vs. Vanderbilt • Kentucky finished 15-3 at home, most home wins in the last three seasons • Kentucky shot 50.7 percent from the field (36 of 71). UK is 13-1 this season when shooting at least 50 percent. • Kentucky made 12 3-pointers. The Wildcats are 8-0 this season when making at least 12 triples • It was UK’s 17th game this season mak- ing at least 10 3-pointers, the most in pro- gram history • Kentucky went 11 of 11 at the free throw line • It ties for the ninth-most free throws made in a perfect performance in school history and the second time in the last five games that the Wildcats have been perfect – also 13 of 13 vs. Vanderbilt • This is the third time in program history that UK has shot perfect from the line (min- imum 10 attempts) twice in a season (2023- 24, 1988-89) Know Your Opponent Missouri The Tigers are 21-9 overall and 10-7 in league play. Missouri also boasts an 18-1 record at home with only Texas A&M being able to take down the Tigers on their home floor. Caleb Grill leads the team with 14.4 points per game, while Mark Mitchell av- erages 14.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. All-time UK is 15-3 in the series, including 4-3 in Columbia, although the Ti- gers have won two straight at home in the series. Kentucky will begin and end the SEC regu- lar-season in 2024-25 with an 11 a.m. local time tip. UK opened with a game at home vs. Flori- da at 11 a.m. ET, and will finish with an 11 a.m. CT tip against Mizzou. SEC Seeding for League Tournament With just one regu- lar-season game remain- ing, there's still a lot to be determined for seeding in the SEC Tournament. Kentucky is guaranteed to be at least the No. 8 seed and can finish as high as No. 5. In order to get to the fifth spot, Kentucky must defeat Missouri, LSU must defeat Texas A&M and Florida must beat Ole Miss. A variety of other vari- ables could land Kentucky in the No. 6 or 7 spot as well. Robinson a Finalist for Julius Erving Award A testament to his outstanding play this season, Kentucky men’s basketball graduate guard Jaxson Robinson was named one of five finalists for the 2025 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year, as announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The Julius Erving Award recognizes the top small forward in men’s college basket- ball each year. This year’s winner will be de- termined at the end of March by Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famers and committee members. Robinson, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season with a wrist injury, was a high-impact player for the Wildcats during his lone season in Lexing- ton. The Ada, Oklahoma, native averaged 13.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists across 24 games played, while shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from 3-point range. Robinson posted new career bests in rebounds per game, assists per game, field-goal percentage and 3-point field goal percentage this season. He scored in double-figures in 17 games and tallied 20 or more on four occasions. Robinson also reached 1,000-career points this season, passing the threshold during Kentucky’s win over Florida on Jan. 4. The 6-foor-6 wing played his best ball in conference action, averaging 14.4 points in 11 Southeastern Conference games while shooting 46.2 percent from the floor and 45.7 percent from deep. A potent threat from the outside, Robin- son hit three or more triples in nine games, including seven-straight contests from Jan. 11 – Feb. 4. He canned at least one 3-point- er in his last 21 games of the year and 23 of 24 outings overall. Robinson had several performances to remember throughout the duration of the 2024-25 campaign. On the road at No. 14 Mississippi State, Robinson erupted for a season-best 27 points while hitting 7-of- 10 3s as the Cats took down the Bulldogs, 95-90. The seven made 3s were tied for the most ever by a Wildcat against Mississip- pi State, matching Dontaie Allen’s perfor- mance in 2021. The very next game, Robinson poured in 22 points against Texas A&M, while also tying his career high with eight rebounds.Thank You to Our CORNERSTONE PARTNERSNEAround the SEC Around the Country 2024-25 SEC Standings and Statistics Team SEC Overall Home Road Auburn 15-2 27-3 13-1 8-2 Florida 13-4 26-4 14-1 7-3 Alabama 12-5 23-7 12-3 8-3 Tennessee 11-6 24-6 15-1 6-5 Ole Miss 10-7 21-9 13-3 5-5 Missouri 10-7 21-9 18-1 3-7 Texas A&M 10-7 21-9 13-3 4-5 Kentucky 9-8 20-10 13-3 3-6 Mississippi State 8-9 20-10 10-5 6-4 Vanderbilt 8-9 20-10 14-3 3-6 Georgia 7-10 19-11 14-3 3-7 Arkansas 7-10 18-12 12-4 4-6 Texas 6-11 17-13 11-6 4-6 Oklahoma 5-12 18-12 11-5 1-7 LSU 3-14 14-16 11-6 2-8 South Carolina 2-15 12-18 10-8 1-9 Scoring Player-Team ...................................................................PPG Johnson, Tre - Texas .....................................................20.64 Sears, Mark - UA .........................................................19.50 Hubbard, Josh - MISS ST .............................................18.30 Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................18.04 Lanier, Chaz - UT .......................................................17.73 Rebounding Player-Team ...................................................................RPG Broome, Johni - AUB ...................................................10.68 Williams, Amari - UK ...................................................8.70 Murray-Boyles, Collin - SC ...........................................8.30 Kaluma, Arthur - Texas ...................................................7.96 Nelson, Grant - UA .......................................................7.87 Assists Player-Team ...................................................................APG Zeigler, Zakai - UT ...................................................... 7.45 Sears, Mark - UA ..........................................................4.97 Hoggard, A.J. - VU .........................................................4.69 Taylor IV, Wade - TA&M ................................................4.50 Clayton Jr., Walter - UF ..................................................4.17 Steals Player-Team ...................................................................SPG Matthews, Cameron - MISS ST ......................................2.47 Robinson II, Anthony - MO ............................................2.07 Zeigler, Zakai - UT .......................................................2.00 Pedulla, Sean - UM .......................................................1.87 Phelps, Zhuric - TA&M .................................................1.83 Blocks Player-Team ...................................................................BPG Broome, Johni - AUB .....................................................2.36 Ivisic, Zvonimir - ARK ....................................................2.10 Okpara, Felix - UT ........................................................1.80 Shedrick, Kadin - Texas .................................................1.70 Collins, Daimion - LSU ..................................................1.61 2024-25 Associated Press Rankings As of March 3, 2025 (week 18) Team Record Points 1 Auburn (61) 27-2 1525 2 Duke 26-3 1458 3 Houston 25-4 1396 4 Tennessee 24-5 1326 5 Florida 25-4 1247 6 St. John's 26-4 1179 7 Alabama 23-6 1176 8 Michigan State 24-5 1165 9 Texas Tech 22-7 947 10 Iowa State 22-7 918 11 Clemson 24-5 905 12 Wisconsin 22-7 815 13 Maryland 22-7 628 14 Louisville 23-6 606 15 Missouri 21-8 603 16 Memphis 24-5 560 17 Michigan 22-7 494 18 Purdue 20-9 454 19 Kentucky 19-10 417 20 Marquette 22-7 409 21 Saint Mary's 27-4 399 22 Texas A&M 20-9 364 23 BYU 21-8 287 24 Arizona 19-10 162 25 Mississippi State 20-9 87 18 @KentuckyMBBWe’re your Shield.
