< PreviousBy Ben Slack UK Athletics Communications and Public Relations T he University of Kentucky gymnastics team will compete inside the friendly confines of Historic Memorial Coliseum six times during the 2026 season, head coach Tim Garrison announced. The home slate features five regular season meets in addi- tion to the return of postseason gymnastics to Lexington with the 2026 NCAA Regional Championships. All five home regular season opponents that the Cats will face in 2026 advanced to the postseason play, highlighted by defend- ing National Champion Oklahoma. Also coming to the Bluegrass are Missouri and Florida, both of whom advanced to the Na- tional Championships in 2025. Rounding out the home opponents are 2025 NCAA Region- al Final squad Arizona State and 2025 NCAA Regional team Georgia. After the 2026 squad debuts at the pre- viously announced Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad in West Valley City, Utah on January 10, the Cats will return home to open Historic Memorial Coliseum against Arizona State. The meet will take place on the week- end of January 16 and will be the first meeting between the two programs since tying at the 2021 NCAA Salt Lake City Regional Final. The Sun Devils last traveled to the Bluegrass in 2015, when the Cats claimed victory on Ex- cite Night. SEC Gymnastics will return to Lexington on the weekend of January 30, as seven-time national champion Oklahoma enters Histor- ic Memorial Coliseum for the first time as a conference foe. The Wildcats and Sooners have met 15 times, but the 2026 meet will mark just the second time Oklahoma has competed in Lexington and first since Excite Night 2012—the first meet in Garrison’s ten- ure. Missouri will be the next team competing in Lexington, with the Tigers coming to town on the weekend of February 13. The Cats have enjoyed success against Mizzou in Lex- ington, holding a 8-1 advantage in the series when played in the Bluegrass. The penultimate home meet in the reg- ular season will see the Georgia GymDogs compete against Kentucky on the weekend of February 27. The Cats have won each of the last two regular season meetings against Georgia in Lexington, claiming their first two dual victories in the series in 2022 and 2024. The Wildcats will close the regular season with a showdown with Florida on the week- end of March 13. Finally, for the first time since 2010, the NCAA Regional Championships will return to Lexington and take place inside Historic Memorial Coliseum from April 2-5. The meet will be one of four sites around the country and feature nine teams competing over three days in the aforementioned window. A First Round, play-in dual meet between regional seeds No. 8 and No. 9 will take place on Thurs- day, April 2 before two second round quad meets featuring regional seeds No. 1 through No. 7, as well as the winner of Wednesday’s dual, will occur on Friday, April 3. The top two teams from each second round session will advance to the regional final, slated for Sun- day, April 5, with the top two teams advanc- ing to the 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships in Ft. Worth, Texas from April 16-18. The Wildcats return 11 gymnasts—includ- ing two-time All-American Creslyn Brose— from last year’s regional final team that earned the program’s fourth consecutive top ten finish. Seven freshman and one transfer will also join the Cats for the 2026 season, looking to help replace a decorated senior class that included five All-Americans. Fans are encouraged to ensure their seats inside Historic Memorial Coliseum for the 2026 regular season by placing a $0 deposit at the following link: https://am.ticketmas- ter.com/uky/buy/26GYMDeposits. Fans who place deposits will be contacted in the fall to complete the season ticket process, includ- ing the selection of seats. The NCAA & SEC rules were developed to ensure those members of the institution’s staff, student- athletes and other individuals or groups representing the institution’s ath- letics interests comply with the NCAA rules and maintain the highest standard of ethical conduct. Principles of Rules Compliance The Athletics Compliance Office (ACO) works to identify and reduce areas of risk within the athletics program that could neg- atively impact the University of Kentucky. If a problem arises, it is the responsibility of the ACO to determine how the problem oc- curred, how it could have been prevented and how to reduce the chances of it occur- ring in the future. The two main functions of the ACO are to educate and monitor. The ACO meets regularly with coaches and stu- dent-athletes to provide information and materials on the applications of the com- plexities of the NCAA bylaws, and at the same time provide as much information as possible to the University of Kentucky com- munity. The staff also monitors the functions of the athletics department that are governed by NCAA legislation. Principles of Institutional Responsibility The institution’s responsibility for the conduct of its intercollegiate athletics pro- gram includes responsibility for the actions of its staff members and for the actions of any other individual or organization engaged in activities promoting the athletics inter- ests of the institution. The NCAA defines an individual as a rep- resentative of athletics interests or a “boost- er” or “donor” if he or she: • Has participated in or is a member of an agency or organization promoting UK’s inter- collegiate athletics program; • Makes or has made a donation to any of the UK men’s or women’s athletics pro- grams; • Is assisting or has been requested by the UK Athletics Department Staff to assist in the recruitment of prospects (which he or she is NOT permitted to do); • Is assisting or has been requested to Pro- vide benefits to enrolled student-athletes or their families (which he or she is NOT permitted to do); • Has been involved otherwise in promoting the UK athletics pro- gram. Remember, a repre- sentative of athletics In- terests is responsible for making the University of Kentucky’s ACO aware of any potential viola- tions of NCAA rules he or she knows have oc- curred. According to the NCAA, once an individu- al has been identified as an athletics represen- tative, he or she retains this identity forever, even if that person no longer contributes to the athletics program. Name, Image & Likeness Pursuant to the adoption of Kentucky re- vised statutes 164.6941 through 164.6951, Kentucky student-athletes are now per- mitted to use their name, image, and like- ness for purposes of compensation. Below are a few key highlights for donors/fans to be aware of: • SA is permitted receive NIL compensa- tion provided there are services rendered by the SA (quid pro quo). • All NIL deals must be submitted seven business days prior to the activity occurring and must be approved within threes busi- ness days by the institution; • Failure to disclose NIL deals to UK may result in violations of Kentucky State Law and NCAA rules, which in turn will affect a SA’s eligibility. • Prospects may not receive compensa- tion from anyone in exchange for commit- ting to or signing a scholarship with the Uni- versity of Kentucky. • Donor’s may not have contact with pro- spective student-athletes, including to ne- gotiate an NIL deal; • SA must receive fair market value for services rendered. • It is permissible for a donor/booster to enter into a genuine NIL agreement with a current SA, so long as the agreement is not a payment, provision or promise of any other consideration or benefits. • UK marks are not permitted to be used for SA NIL activities UNLESS approved by UK in advance. • UK, including but not limited to athlet- ics staff and coaches, are not permitted to provide, arrange or negotiate NIL deals for SA’s. • UK is permitted to put you into contact with a current SA if there is interest in a NIL deal – UK encourages contacting SA’s di- rectly via their social media accounts. Failure to adhere to these regulations create NCAA violations that may result in a SA or PSA to be ineligible for intercollegiate competition. In addition, it may affect your standing as a donor with UK. To learn more, visit https://ukathletics. com/NIL Student-Athlete Employment In addition to NIL, SA’s are also able to obtain employment opportunities to earn extra funds or gain invaluable experience in a field in which they look to have a career. SA’s are permitted to work provided: • They are only paid for work performed; • They are paid at the going rate for ser- vices in the locale. • The job is registered with the ACO.
