ESPN will tele- vise the 6:00 p.m. CT matchup on Stripe the Stadium Day. n In this last of five home games to start the 2022 season, recognitions include the 2022 Final Four women’s golf team, a reunion of the 2002 NCAA championship women’s swimming and diving team, and Pamela Wells Sheffield Award winner Ellyn Hix. SERIES HISTORY n Auburn trails the all-time series with LSU 31-24-1. Auburn leads 13-8 in games played in Auburn; the home team has won 18 of the last 22 in the series. Twelve of the last 18 meet- ings in the series have been decided by seven points or less, including the four games from 2016-19, which were decided by a total of 14 points. n Last season, Auburn won in Baton Rouge for the first time since 1999 in a come-from-behind 24-19 victory using a 92- yard drive capped by a Jarquez Hunter 1-yard run with 3:11 to play and a Bydarrius Knighten interception to seal the win. n In the 2021 meeting at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn was a 48-11 winner at Jordan-Hare Stadium; those 48 points were the most ever scored in the series by either team and the 37-point margin of victory was the largest ever for Auburn in the series. n Since the SEC moved to two divisions in 1992, LSU leads the series just 16-14. From 2002-14, at least one team was ranked in the AP Top 25. KICKOFF COVERAGE n Captain Derick Hall is the SEC defensive line- man of the week for his play in the overtime win against Missouri. The game will be televised on ESPN with Joe Tessitore (pxp), Greg McElroy (analyst) and Katie George (sideline reporter) on the call. n LSU is coming off a 38-0 non-conference win over New Mexico last week, while Auburn posted a 17-14 overtime victory over Missouri. n Last year, Auburn outscored LSU 14-0 in the fourth quar- ter to overcome a 19-10 second half deficit to win in Tiger Stadium, 24-19. n LSU enters the contest with one of the nation’s top defens- es as the Tigers are allowing only 257.8 total yards per game (112.3 rushing, 145.5 passing), while limiting opponents to just 33 percent conversion rate on third down (17-of-51). n Offensively, LSU has scored 30 or more points in three straight games and is averaging 39.3 points per game and 487.0 total yards per contest (198.8 rushing, 288.3 passing). QB Jayden Daniels ranks among the top 10 in the SEC in both rushing yards per game (65.5) and passing yards per game (208.8). BRIAN KELLY: MOST ACCOMPLISHED HIRED IN LSU HISTORY n First-year LSU coach Brian Kelly joined the program as the most accomplished hire in school history, coming to Baton Rouge with 284 career victories and three national Coach of the Year honors. n In 12 years at Notre Dame, Kelly guided the Irish to seven 10-win seasons, 10 bowl appearances, including two Col- lege Football Playoff games and the BCS National Champi- onship Game in 2012. n Kelly’s overall coaching record stands at 284-98-2, which ranks first among all active FBS head coaches in wins. n He went 113-40 at Notre Dame (12 years), 34-6 at Cincinnati (4 years), 19-16 at Central Michigan (3 years) and 118-35-2 at Grand Valley State (13 years). QUICK NOTES n Brian Kelly will bring a team to an SEC venue for only the third time on Saturday when LSU plays at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
