The Scholastic All-American has nine starts on bars with a career-high 9.85. Q: How is this season different knowing that it’s your last year as an Auburn gymnast? This year I’ve just tried to enjoy myself and just have fun. I’ve just been trying to take in every second and be present. Q: How has your experience here prepared you for life beyond college? How has being a student-athlete impacted that? I think that my experience here being a student athlete has taught me the traits of resilience and self-discipline. It has also taught me teamwork, and that failure builds character. I think that these things I have learned will make me a better employee and co-worker in the future. Q: What would you like to tell young gymnasts hoping to compete in college? I would tell them to not be so hard on themselves and go to a college that you feel at home at. Q: Your favorite Jeff Graba quote? “If you’re not first, you’re last…Anna I know you know where that is from.” (from the movie Ricky Bobby) CATCHING UP WITH Anna SumnerNext >
