Reynolds Razorback Stadium opener, Arkansas hits the road for the third time in four weeks to begin SEC play against Auburn. Kickoff between the Hogs and Tigers from inside Jordan-Hare Stadium is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on ESPN. n Arkansas has an all-time record of 58-48-3 in conference openers since joining the Southwest Conference in 1915. The Hogs, who enter Saturday’s contest seeking back-to- back wins against the Tigers in Auburn for the first time since 2006-08, are 12-20 in SEC openers since 1992 with a 2-2 mark in SEC openers under head coach Sam Pittman. n Quarterback Taylen Green has completed 53-of-94 (56.4%) passes for 806 yards and three touchdowns through the first three games of the year. A dual-threat quarterback, the Boise State transfer has also run for 245 yards and four scores on 41 carries (6.0 ypc) to help power Arkansas’ rushing offense, which leads the country in rushing touchdowns (15) and ranks 11th in rushing yards per game (259.0). n Running back Ja’Quinden Jackson has made his case as one of the best running backs in the country with three consecutive 100-yard rushing games to begin the season. The Utah transfer notched his eighth career 100-yard rushing game against UAB, totaling 147 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries (9.8 ypc). Through three games, Jackson leads the SEC in multiple offensive categories, including all-purpose yards per game (148.7), rush yards per carry (8.5), rushing yards (397) and rush yards per game (132.3). n Wide receiver Andrew Armstrong has emerged as quarterback Taylen Green’s go-to target, leading the Razorbacks in receptions (18) and receiving yards (301) despite missing the season opener. He turned in his second consecutive 100-yard receiving game against UAB, finishing with a team-leading eight catches for a team-high 137 yards in the Hogs’ win. Armstrong has caught a pass in 30 consecutive games and registered multiple receptions in 25 straight games since his 2021 season at Texas A&M-Commerce. n Linebacker Xavian Sorey Jr. remains the Hogs’ leading tackler through the first three games of the season, totaling a team- high 23 stops (10 solo) with a team-leading 3.0 tackles for loss, including 1.0 sacks. The Georgia transfer is one of five Arkansas defenders with at least one sack this season. FOUR DOWNS n Led by RB Ja’Quinden Jackson’s six scores on the ground, Arkansas leads the country in rushing touchdowns with 15. Six different Hogs have accounted for at least one rushing score this season. n Since 2020 (Sam Pittman’s first year as head coach), the Hogs have totaled 49 interceptions in 51 games. Arkansas’ 49 interceptions are tied for third-most among all SEC teams during that span. n Arkansas touts the country’s best third down offense, converting 27-of-40 (.675) third down attempts this season. The next closest team is Indiana, which owns a 20-of-31 (.645) conversion rate. n Through the first three games of the season, Arkansas is third in the SEC and fifth in the country in total offense with an average of 587.3 yards per game, including 259.0 rushing yards per game. THE HEAD HOG n Fifth-year head coach Sam Pittman leads Arkansas in the 2024 campaign as the Razorbacks seek bowl eligibility for the fourth time in five seasons and a bowl appearance for the third time in the last four seasons. n Pittman led the Razorbacks to at least seven wins in consecutive seasons in 2021-22, as well as bowl eligibility in three consecutive seasons from 2020-22. n Pittman is the fourth Arkansas head coach in history to lead the Razorbacks to bowl eligibility in each of their first three seasons on the job, joining Lou Holtz (1977-79), Ken Hatfield (1984-86) and Houston Nutt (1998-2000). n Saturday’s SEC opener at Auburn marks Pittman’s 52nd game as head coach at Arkansas. Of those 52 games, 43 have come against an opponent from the SEC, a Power 5 foe and/or an opponent ranked in the AP Top 25 poll. n Seven of the Razorbacks’ 12 opponents in the 2024 season appeared in the AP preseason Top 25 poll. Arkansas has beat five ranked FBS teams under Pittman. Since his first season at the helm, 32 of Arkansas’ 47 FBS foes have either been ranked or received votes in the national polls.
