BETTER IN NOVEMBER n Head coach Kalen DeBoer owns a record of 37-4 (.902) in the month of November across two levels of college football. n Since 2022, DeBoer has produced a 13-2 (.867) standing in November contests. YEAR TWO UNDER KDB n Head coach Kalen DeBoer’s teams have produced significant improvements in the second season of his previous coaching tenures. n Following an 11-2 overall record and a berth in the semifinals of the NAIA Championship Series after his inaugural season at Sioux Falls in 2005, DeBoer advanced the Cougars to a perfect 14-0 record in 2006, winning the NAIA National Championship. n After managing a 3-3 finish with Fresno State in his debut season in 2020, DeBoer proceeded to win six more games in 2021 with the Bulldogs finishing 9-3 under his watch. n Most recently, DeBoer led Washington to a College Football Playoff National Championship berth in his second season with the Huskies in 2023, tallying a 14-1 overall record. n Washington was 11-2 in DeBoer’s initial campaign in Seattle the year prior. TY TAKES OVER n Ty Simpson was named the starting quarterback by head coach Kalen DeBoer on Aug. 11, replacing two-year starter Jalen Milroe, who was drafted in the third round (92nd overall) by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2025 NFL Draft. n Simpson made his first career start at Florida State on Aug. 30, completing 23-of-43 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns while adding nine carries for 17 yards. n Simpson became the first UA quarterback since Bryce Young in 2021 to manage a touchdown pass in the first drive of his first- ever start, finding Josh Cuevas for a two-yard score. n Simpson’s 254 passing yards were also the fifth-most by a UA quarterback in his first career start in program history. n Through 11 starts, Simpson has completed 237-of-354 passes (66.9 percent) for 2,934 yards and 22 touchdowns while adding 65 carries for 95 yards and two scores. n Simpson was named a Maxwell Award semifinalist,the Maxwell Football Club announced Nov. 11. n Simpson is one of 13 semifinalists for the Maxwell, an award presented to the most outstanding player in college football. n Finalists for the Maxwell will be announced on Nov. 27 before the 2025 winner is announced on Dec. 11 as part of the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show. MR. RELIABLE n Germie Bernard was one of the most consistent wideouts in college football a season ago and has maintained his form in 2025. n After leading all Tide receivers in receptions (50) and finishing second in receiving yards (794) last season, Bernard currently paces UA wideouts in receptions (48), receiving yards (676) and receiving touchdowns (6). n The Nevada native has also produced 97 rushing yards on 16 carries with two rushing scores while completing two passes for 15 yards on his only two attempts. n The senior’s six receiving touchdowns are tied for fourth- most in the SEC and are tied for 35th nationally while his eight total touchdowns are tied for 10th among all SEC players. n Additionally, Bernard leads all Tide pass-catchers with a 67.6 receiving yards per game mark.
