It also marked UK’s highest-ranked triumph in the Mark Stoops era. n In UK’s recent loss at Florida on Oct. 19, return specialist, Barion Brown, recorded his fifth-career kickoff return touchdown, running the ball back 99 yards. His five career kickoff return touchdowns broke the Southeastern Conference record, while he also remains the NCAA active career leader. He also recorded a 45-yard touchdown reception in that game, becoming the first player in program history to have two games featuring a kickoff return touchdown and a touchdown catch of at least 45 yards. n Chip Trayanum, a graduate student running back who transferred in after two seasons at Ohio State, made his debut in Blue and White at Florida on Oct. 19 after sitting out the first six games with a preseason injury in 2024. He carried seven times for 26 yards in his first appearance for Kentucky. n The Wildcats have led their opponent in rushing yardage in six of their seven games this season. n UK has won or tied the first downs in all seven games this season. n Jordan Lovett, a junior defensive back, has led UK in total tackles on career highs the past two games against Vanderbilt and at Florida, recording nine stops per game. n The Wildcat defense ranks in the nation’s top 25 in four categories - fewest first downs allowed (fourth), total defense (12th), rushing defense (22nd) and kickoff return defense (25th). That side of the ball is paced by D’Eryk Jackson, senior linebacker, who leads the team with 37 tackles and three pass breakups. Jackson recently recorded his fifth career interception against Vanderbilt on Oct. 12, which marked Vanderbilt’s first interception all season. Jackson also led UK in tackles in each of the last two seasons. n Three Wildcats received preseason All-America nods, including return specialist Barion Brown (Athlon, Phil Steele, Sporting News and USA Today), defensive lineman Deone Walker (AP, Athlon, ESPN, Phil Steele, Sporting News, USA Today and Walter Camp) and defensive back Maxwell Hairston (Athlon). n Kentucky football head coach Mark Stoops is the longest- tenured active head coach in the Southeastern Conference and the sixth longest-tenured active head coach in FBS. Now in his 12th season at Kentucky, Stoops is one of only 19 head coaches who have coached at least 12 seasons at an SEC school since the league’s first season in 1933. KENTUCKY VS. AUBURN n Kentucky trails the all-time series with Auburn, 27-6-1, and also in games played in Lexington, 13-4, in a series that dates back to 1934. n The Wildcats have dropped their last three contests to the Tigers, including 2010, 2015 and 2020. n The Cats last defeated the Tigers in 2009, earning a 21- 14 triumph in Auburn. The last time Kentucky defeated Auburn on its home field was in 1966. Then, UK defeated AU, 17-7, in the second game of the season. n The last time UK hosted AU was back-to-back home meetings in 2010 and 2015. n The Wildcats’ largest win against the Tigers was a shutout in 1964, earning a 20-0 triumph. n Kentucky has eight players from the state of Alabama, including defensive backs Kristian Story (Lanett), Jonquis “JQ” Hardaway (Central Phoenix City), Cam Dooley (Valley), Avery Stewart (Montgomery); offensive linemen Koby Keenum (Florence) and Lucas Padgett (Birmingham); defensive linemen Jackson Bunn (Oxford) and Kahlil Saunders (Huntsville). n There are no players on Auburn‚ roster from the state of Kentucky. n A win for Kentucky would even the Wildcats’ record at 4-4 heading into the final month of the season, end a three- game losing streak versus Auburn, give UK its first win over the Tigers since 2009 and Mark Stoops would extend his school records for total victories (67), home victories (47) and SEC victories (32).
